Macadamia Nut Cookies

Christmas cookies with a twist, anyone? How about these macadamia nut cookies with caramelized macadamia nuts and dark chocolate!

  • Cookie cutter heart-shaped/round...
  • Baking tray

Zutaten
  

  • 100 g flour
  • 80 g butter
  • 35 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar or brown sugar
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 20 macadamia nuts roasted and salted
  • 100 g dark chocolate or white chocolate

Zubereitung
 

  • Combine flour, butter, sugar and salt. Let the dough rest in the fridge for 1 hour.
  • In the meantime, melt honey and coconut sugar on low heat. Turn off the heat, add cinnamon and macadamia nuts and stir until they are all covered in caramel. Place on baking paper and let them cool.
  • Preheat the oven to 160 °C. Roll out the dough to approx. 0,5 cm and cut out cookies. Put them on baking paper and place one macadamia nut in the middle of each cookie. Bake for approx. 5-7 minutes until golden.
  • Melt the chocolate and decorate the cookies with it once they've cooled down.

Tipps

You can also decorate the cookies with white instead of dark chocolate.
