Homemade Italian Bolognese Sauce

Mama's easier version of the Italian classic bolognese sauce that doesn't have to cook for a whole day. Make a big batch and freeze – this is Italian meal-prep!

Zutaten
  

  • 2 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • olive oil
  • 1 kg ground beef
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 cups canned tomatoes
  • 1 splash red wine
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • salt
  • pepper

Zubereitung
 

  • Peel and chop carrots and onion into fine pieces. Sautée in olive oil until golden, then add the ground beef a little bit at a time. Fry in the olive oil as well.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and let the sauce simmer for about 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper when it's almost done. Use it right away or freeze in batches!

Tipps

Keep the bolognese sauce in the freezer for a few months. 
Serve it with homemade tagliatelle pasta or a piece of freshly baked ciabatta bread
