Original Italian Focaccia

Soft, fluffy and so delicious: Italian focaccia is the perfect basic that goes with everything! Here's my originally Italian recipe.

Portionen: 1 baking tray

Utensilien

  • Bowl
  • Kitchen towel/plastic wrap
  • Baking tray
  • Baking paper

Zutaten
  

  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 700 ml water
  • 1 kg flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • olive oil topping
  • flaky salt topping
  • pepper topping
  • rosemary topping

Zubereitung
 

  • Dissolve yeast in water and combine with the flour for a minute. Add salt and olive oil and knead the dough until it's very smooth. Cover with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let it rest for 1 hour at room temperature.
  • Put the dough on a baking paper and carefully stretch it with your hands until it covers the whole baking tray. Pour some olive oil on top of the focaccia and press your fingers into it so that you create holes. Preheat the oven to 230 °C while you let the dough rest for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake the focaccia for 20-30 minutes.

Tipps

You can spread some pesto on top of the focaccia after baking – sooo delicious!
