My TOP 10 Restaurants all over the World

This is a post that I had already planned for months, but then there was always another new recipe to post so I postponed this one. Today’s the day, here comes my list of the top 10 restaurants that are my favorites in the world. I was struggling with placing the restaurants in the top 10, so this is a list of 10 equally good restaurants. There certainly are looots of places and countries I’ve not been to and that are waiting for me, full of great restaurants, places and culture. Can’t wait to explore them!

MY TOP 10 RESTAURANTS THAT I’VE BEEN TO:

Baal Bek, Munich (Lebanese):
My first time eating Lebanese food ever. One of the best cuisine’s I’ve ever tasted, I loved all the fresh ingredients, the tasty and flavored dishes and the good service. Definitely try the peppermint-drink and the variation of starters!

Perfect, if you like…. spices, pomegranate, peppermint and new dishes that we don’t really know in the Western world.
Royal India, Munich:
I love Indian cuisine, first got to taste it in New York at The Masalawala (also a great Indian restaurant btw!) and discovered this nice restaurant in Munich. We have been there several times and it always tasted fresh, homemade and original.

Perfect, if you like… meat, but also veggie dishes that are quite spicy.
Henssler Henssler & Ahoi, Hamburg:
My readers already know why I love these restaurants: Steffen Henssler is my favorite chef, I love his dishes and cooking style. The Henssler Henssler is great for sushi (although a more creative type of sushi than usual) whereas the Ahoi is more of a lunch-restaurant with burgers, fries, fish & chips – but even in these kind of dishes, Steffen Henssler always inserts a bit of an Asian key-ingredient that makes this “fastfood” taste awesome.

Perfect, if you like… sushi, but also down-to-earth dishes, but everything with an Asia-Californian stamp.
Hunter’s Bar & Grill, Hamburg:
Also on a must-eat-list if you’ll ever go to Hamburg is this South-African restaurant. I had the ostrich fillet – wow! Definitely try it! Also the salad with goat’s cheese was very fresh, with lots of special ingredients (figs, strawberries).

Ted’s Montana Grill, New York:
Searching for a good steak house in New York City is kind of like looking for a needle in a haystack. But, after some research, I found this Grill and Steak house. Very, very good steaks – you absolutely have to try the bison steak (there are very few steaks that can compete with the tenderness and taste of the bison steak I ate at Ted’s Montana Grill!)

Candlelight Dinner on the Beach, Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui (Thailand):
Honestly, I can’t remember if this “restaurant” even had a name. There are so many of them on Chaweng beach and I think on all of Thailand’s beaches. This was one of the most beautiful dinners I’ve ever had: On the beach, toes in the sand, the sound of the waves in the background and the stars above us, under a white tent with a heart-shaped candle-path around us… Heaven on Koh Samui!
Just search for these restaurants or white pavilions right on the beach. Ours was just a few minutes from the Ozo Chaweng Hotel.
Perfect, if you like…romantic dinners and unique experiences!
Trauttmansdorff, Merano (Southtyrol):
This restaurant is, in my opinion, one of the best if not THE best in my hometown. Haute-cuisine, not too many different dishes but great service, high-quality and special dishes that combine Italy’s and Southtyrol’s best dishes.

357, Merano (Southtyrol):
As an Italian girl, there absolutely has to be at least one Pizza restaurant in this list. This one’s a great one in Merano that recently opened: They use only the best of Southtyrol’s ingredients for a perfectly Italian Pizza. The cost may be a bit higher as usual, but this is a special Pizza place created by a haute-cuisine-chef.

Giggetto, Rome:
A real Roman restaurant that serves authentic Roman dishes, in the heart of Rome’s Jewish quarter. Order the “Carciofo alla Giudia” and the “Cacio e Pepe”, it’s worth it! The food is great, but also the atmosphere is unique when you walk through the Jewish quarter and get to see lots of old buildings, restaurants and just so much history.

Il Rivale, Padenghe, Lake Garda:
The last restaurant of this Top 10 list is a real Italian restaurant where you can really dive into mediterranean food. The view is awesome, sit outside on a sunny day and watch the Garda like as you eat your pasta, T-bone-steak alla “Fiorentina” or enjoy your Espresso.

Diesen Beitrag hatte ich schon so lange im Kopf, doch dann gab’s immer wieder ein neues, tolles Rezept zu posten und ich habe ihn immer wieder aufgschoben. Heute ist es endlich soweit: Hier kommt meine Top-10-Liste meiner Lieblingsrestaurants auf der ganzen Welt. Ich habe mich unheimlich schwer getan, die Restaurants den 10 Plätzen zu zu ordnen, also habe ich mich dafür entschieden, einfach eine Liste der 10 besten Restaurants zu machen – diese Restaurants sind alle so super, dass ich mich nicht für die Sieger entscheiden konnte. Es gibt so viele Länder voller Kultur und kulinarischer Highlights, die ich noch entdecken möchte – ich kann’s kaum erwarten, was noch Tolles auf mich wartet!

MEINE TOP 10 RESTAURANTS:

Baal Bek, München (Libanesisch):
Mein erstes Mal Libanesisch essen. Bis jetzt eine meiner Lieblings-Küchen, ich liebe all die frischen Zutaten, die tollen Gewürze und Geschmacksrichtungen, die kombiniert werden. Unbedingt den Minze-Drink probieren und die Vorspeisenvariation empfehlen lassen!

Perfekt für dich, wenn du…. Gewürze, Granatapfel, Pfefferminze und neue Gerichte, die wir in der westlichen Welt nicht wirklich kennen, magst!
Royal India, München:
Ich liebe die indische Küche, das erste Mal habe ich indisches Essen in New York im The Masalawala probiert (auch ein wahnsinnig gutes indisches Restaurant, hatte nur nicht mehr auf der Liste Platz!). Wir haben im The Masalawala und im Royal India schon mehrere Male gegessen und es war in beiden immer original indisch und schmeckte wie eine Bollywoodreise.

Perfekt für dich, wenn du…Fleisch magst, aber auch vegetarische Gerichte – alles aber recht scharf.
Henssler Henssler & Ahoi, Hamburg:
Meine Leser wissen wahrscheinlich schon, warum ich von diesen zwei Restaurants begeistert bin: Steffen Henssler ist mein Lieblingskoch, ich liebe seinen Koch-Style und war überglücklich, als ich die Chance hatte, in gleich zwei von seinen Restaurants zu essen! Das Henssler Henssler ist super für Sushi-Fans (auch wenn es ein etwas kreativeres Sushi ist), das Ahoi ist ein “gehobenes” Fast-Food-Restaurant mit Burgern, Pommes, Fisch – aber sogar diese Schnellgerichte sind supertoll gemacht, Steffen Henssler hat in jedes einzelne Gericht eine asiatische Note eingebracht – so schmeckt sogar das “langweiligste” Fast-Food-Gericht spannend!

Hunter’s Bar & Grill, Hamburg:
Definitiv auch auf die Top-Restaurant-Liste gehört das Hunter’s in Hamburg. Ein südafrikanisch angehauchtes Restaurant, in dem ihr auf alle Fälle das Straußenfleisch bestellen müsst! Wow, auch der Salat mit Ziegenkäse war sehr frisch und mit einigen speziellen Zutaten getoppt (Feigen, Erdbeeren, Balsamico).

Ted’s Montana Grill, New York:
In New York ein gutes Steak zu finden, ist so einfach, wie die sprichwörtliche Stecknadel im Heuhaufen zu finden. Deswegen empfehle ich euch eines! Dieses Restaurant hat sehr, sehr gute Steaks – ihr müsst unbedingt das Bison-Steak probieren (gibt’s in Europa so gut wie gar nicht). Es gibt sehr wenige Steaks, die in Punkto Zartheit und Geschmack mit diesem Steak mithalten können.

Abendessen bei Kerzenschein am Strand, Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui (Thailand):
Ehrlich gesagt, weiß ich nicht mehr, ob dieses Restaurant überhaupt eine Webseite oder einen richtigen “Namen” hatte. Es gibt so viele von diesen am Chaweng Beach und wahrscheinlich in ganz Thailand. Dieses Abendessen werde ich immer in Erinnerung behalten, als eines der romantischsten und schönsten, die ich je genießen durfte: Am Strand, die Zehen im Sand, das Rauschen der Wellen im Hintergrund, die Sterne über uns, das weiße Zelt und Kerzen in Form eines Herzens um uns herum arrangiert… ich habe das Paradies in Koh Samui gefunden!
Sucht einfach am Strand nach diesen Restaurants oder weißen Pavillons. Unsere Location war nur ein Paar Schritte vom Ozo Chaweng Hotel entfernt.

Trauttmansdorff, Meran (Südtirol):
Dieses Restaurant ist, meiner Meinung nach, eines der besten, wenn nicht DAS Beste in meiner Heimatstadt. Gehobene Küche, eine überschaubare Karte, super Service, hohe Qualität und spezielle Gerichte, die Südtirol und Italien perfekt in Einklang bringen.

357, Meran (Südtirol):
Als Italienerin gehört natürlich auch mindestens eine Pizzeria in meine Liste. Diese hier ist auch in meiner Heimatstadt: Nur die besten südtiroler Produkte werden für eine perfekte italienische Pizza verwendet. Die Pizza hier ist zwar etwas teurer, doch es lohnt sich – eine Pizzeria, die von einem Haute-Cuisine-Koch kreiert wurde.

Giggetto, Rom:
Ein authentisches römisches Restaurant, das noch original italienische Gerichte serviert, direkt im jüdischen Viertel von Rom. Probiert unbedingt den “Carciofo alla Giudia” und die Pasta “Cacio e Pepe”! Das Essen schmeckt super, aber auch die Atmosphäre ist einzigartig: rundherum die alten, jüdischen Mauern, Geschäfte und einfach so viel Geschichte.

Il Rivale, Padenghe, Gardasee:
Das letzte Restaurant meiner Liste ist ein richtig italienisches Restaurant, hier könnt ihr euch in die mediterrane Küche stürzen. Die Aussicht ist auch atemberaubend, unbedingt draußen sitzen und an einem sonnigen Tag den Gardasee betrachten, während ihr eure Pasta, “Fiorentina”-Steak oder euren Espresso genießt.
